The New Eco-Primary School in Ghedi

Inaugurating the new primary school in Ghedi, the new premises of the “Rinaldini” institute, is a source of great pride for ETS S.p.A., which carried out the technical and economic feasibility design, the detailed design and the executive design, the Works Supervision, and safety coordination during both the design and execution phases.

The complex covers approximately 25,000 sq m and was designed by JDP Architects, led by Joseph Di Pasquale, in collaboration with architect Marco Contini, Studio Facchinetti of Ghedi, Lignaconsult of Bolzano, Parcnouveau and ETS S.p.A. It is designed to accommodate up to 1,000 pupils and was built through a construction site organised in two lots funded by Regione Lombardia, which required complex technical coordination across demolition, new construction and the landscaping of outdoor areas.

From an engineering perspective, the main challenge was to ensure fast delivery times without ever compromising execution quality. This result was made possible by attentive and meticulous site personnel, and by solid collaboration with all the stakeholders involved (the Municipal Administration, the works supervision team, the Contractor and suppliers), which allowed every issue arising during the works to be addressed promptly.

The choice of the new site, close to the Olimpia sports centre and already well served by cycle paths and road links, also required careful design of the new road layout, access points and parking areas for school buses and coaches, with particular attention to the separation of routes and the safety of students and families. This technically complex project encompassed classrooms, laboratories, gymnasiums, an auditorium and a library, and was completed with engineering rigour and constant attention to executive detail.

ETS S.p.A. thanks the Municipal Administration, all the Authorities involved and the entire site team: seeing a project of this scale completed on schedule and with such a high level of construction quality is the greatest satisfaction of the work carried out.
