INFORMATION ABOUT THE USE OF COOKIES

We would like to provide you with some further information regarding the use of data during navigation and use of our website services. The Controller of the ETS S.p.A. needs to handle certain elements of data identification required for the provision of its services.

A) Navigation data

Computer systems and technical and software procedures enabling the functionality of this website acquire, during the normal course of their activity, certain elements of personal data which are automatically transmitted with the operating mechanisms and Internet protocols in use.
Every time the user accesses this site and every time he/she requests new or repeat content the access data is stored in our systems and potentially also in those of the data controller and persons responsible for processing the data, in the form of a structured and/or unstructured tabular or linear database (contained within specific log files). Each data storage line consists of information such as:

The Internet site from which our page was referenced (the “referral”);
Your IP address;
The date and time of the request or access;
The request itself from your browser or other client, in the form of a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) address;
The technical code of the http response obtained by the server (error, successful application, etc.);
The quantity of data transmitted;
The browser, its technical and functional characteristics and the operational system used.
This data does not give/provide personal data about the user of the site, but only data of a technical/IT nature, and is treated in anonymous and aggregate form. This data may only be used by the Controller for the purpose of gathering anonymous statistical information about the use of the site in order to identify the pages preferred by its users and therefore be able to provide ever more suitable content and check its proper functioning. At the request of relevant Authorities, data can be used to ascertain responsibility in the case of hypothesized offenses against the site or its users.

B) Data provided by the user

This is the data provided by the site user when registering on the “Contact us” section, in order to be able to use the services provided. The user who is registering on the site receives the Privacy Policy and must give his/her consent to the processing of personal data as specified (mandatory consent and optional consent) in order to complete registration. This data will then be processed by the data controller’s staff to provide the services requested and within the statues of the consent granted.

C) Cookies

We use cookies to make your visit to our website as convenient as possible. Cookies are small text files that the sites you visit send to the user’s computer (usually to the browser), where they are stored and will be automatically re-transmitted to the same sites at the next visit by the same user.
Cookies make it possible to register information in a semi-permanent way regarding your preferences and other technical data that enable easier browsing and greater ease of use and effectiveness of the site. For example, cookies can be used to determine if a connection has already been made between your computer and the website, to highlight news or retain “login” information. Only the cookies stored on your computer are memorized.

Types of Cookies

1. Essential technical cookies

Technical cookies enable the functionality of activities strictly linked to the website. Technical cookies used by the Controller can be divided into the following sub-categories:

navigational cookies, which enable you to save your preferences, to navigate the site and optimize the user’s browsing experience;
analytical cookies, which enable the acquisition of statistical information regarding the user’s browsing methods. This information is treated in anonymous and aggregate form;
functionality cookies, including those of third parties, used to activate specific functions of the site and necessary to provide the service or improve it.
These cookies do not require the user’s consent to be installed and used.

2. Statistical and performance analysis cookies

These cookies enable us to know how visitors use the site, in order to be able to assess and improve its functionality and better serve the needs and information for the user. For example, they enable the Controller to know which pages are most often and least often consulted. Among other things, they account for the number of visitors, the average time spent on the website by the users and how they arrive at the pages. All the information processed by these cookies is anonymous and not linked to the user’s personal data. To perform these functions on our sites we use the services of third parties that anonymize data so that it is not referable to individuals (so-called “single-in”).

3. Cookies for user profiling

These cookies enable us to offer advertisements related to the user and their respective interests. They are also used to limit the number of views of the same promotion and to evaluate the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
They are inserted by ETS S.p.A. by means of technical platforms that are partnered with our advertising network and contribute to our investment in the website, enabling us to finance the management of our services adequately and their technological evolution. They can also be used to show relevant advertisements on other websites visited by the user.

4. Functional and third-party profiling cookies

This category includes both cookies provided by partners of ETS S.p.A. who are known to the company, and cookies provided by third parties that are not directly controlled or controllable by ETS S.p.A. The cookies from our partners allow us to offer more advanced features, as well as more detailed information and personal functions. This includes the possibility of sharing content via social network and accessing video streaming services. These elements are mainly provided by external operators hired or knowingly integrated by ETS S.p.A. If you already have an account or use these services on other websites, it may be possible for them to know that you have visited our website. These include cookies registered by the main social networks that allow you to share articles of our website and publicly express your liking for them. Cookies not coming from ETS S.p.A. partners are conveyed without the control of ETS S.p.A. by third parties who are able to intercept the user while browsing, even outside the www.etseng.it website. Typically, these are profiling cookies which are not directly controlled by ETS S.p.A., who therefore cannot guarantee the use that these third parties make of the information collected.

Management of cookies

In the event that you have any doubts about the use of cookies, it is always possible to take action to prevent them from being stored and consulted, for example by modifying the privacy settings within your browser in order to block specific types. As each browser – and often different versions of the same browser – can vary significantly one from the other, you can find detailed information on the necessary procedure to follow in your navigation guide if you would prefer to browse anonymously. Advertising companies also allow you to opt out of receiving target promotions, if you so desire. This does not prevent the setting of cookies, but it does prevent the use and collection of some data by these companies.

Acceptance and non-acceptance of cookies

By continuing to browse on this site by closing the information strip or by clicking on any part of the page or scrolling up or down to highlight more content, you automatically accept the INFORMATION ON THE USE OF ETS S.p.A. COOKIES, and the cookies will be stored and collected as described above. In the case of non-acceptance of the cookies by your not continuing to navigate the site, the cookies previously registered in your browser will still remain, but will no longer be consulted or used by ETS S.p.A. until such time in the future when you should choose to accept the Information.

Data controller

The controller of the data processing is ETS S.p.A. Via Casalino, 18 – 24121 Bergamo C.F e P.IVA 02141540167 info@etseng.it.
