The Northern Bypass (Tangenziale Nord) of Cesano Maderno has been officially opened. The new link to Seveso was built to improve local traffic flow, make journeys smoother and support greater regularity of rail services.
The project, fully funded by Regione Lombardia with an investment of over €21.3 million and delivered by Ferrovienord S.p.A., is a strategic intervention for the area and for the efficiency of the local road network.
The works included the construction of two new roundabouts, a vehicular underpass of approximately 80 metres in an artificial tunnel to cross the railway line, a new bridge over the Seveso stream, and new road sections serving neighbouring homes. The project also includes a stretch of cycle path with a pedestrian underpass, helping to improve accessibility and promote more integrated mobility.
As part of this major project, ETS S.p.A. contributed to the delivery of the work through its appointment as Safety Coordinator for the Execution Phase (CSE), overseeing safety aspects during construction activities and coordinating the measures provided for risk management.
The opening of the Northern Bypass marks a significant step towards more efficient, safe mobility that meets the needs of the community. The project combines infrastructural innovation with attention to the local area, improving connections between Cesano Maderno and Seveso and confirming the value of collaboration between technical expertise and public institutions in delivering strategic infrastructure.
